Job descriptionJob description: Logistics CoordinatorJob Title: Logistics CoordinatorSalary Status: $23 - $25FLSA:Employment Type:Location: Fontana, CAJob Overview:Responsible for global logistics activities for the life cycle of orders including, but not limited to, negotiating rates, booking shipments, tracking shipments, creating required shipping documentation (import, export and domestic), updating customers, auditing and processing freight invoices, order entry and filing paperwork. You will successfully work independently and collaboratively to secure transportation for customer orders and procure qualified carriers to transport freight by air, ocean, rail, or truck, in a timely, manner while maximizing margins and minimizing risks.Essential Responsibilities: Manages all aspects of US Imports, Exports, and Domestic shipments, for inbound and outbound finished goods or raw materials, through multiple modes of transportation and varying degrees of complexity Assists in obtaining quotes on shipping lanes and selecting best service providers based on price, service, and required delivery Responsible to book shipments with carriers through email, phone, and TMS systems Tracks shipments they entire way from pickup through final delivery, identifying potential problems or delays, while reporting them in a timely manner to key stakeholders Ensures required documentation is completed accurately, processed, distributed, and released to all necessary parties in a timely manner, while abiding by regulatory requirements. Audits freight invoices for accuracy, enters key data into SAP, and send invoices to AP for payment while, maintaining invoice log and weekly invoice reports Completes all necessary order entry into SAP daily Compiles and saves required documentation on shared drive and in SAP Ensures required documentation is on file or maintained for the specified audit requirement period Is a problem-solver and solutions-provider to all internal and external customers, vendors, carriers, freight forwarders and government entities Provides back-up support as needed for other department team members Prepares reports and creates, monitors and updates Logistics KPI's Develops and maintains SOPs keeping in mind continuous improvement opportunities Other tasks as assigned by Management teamMinimum Requirements:3+ years of experience managing all aspects of logistics with US Imports, Exports, and Domestic shipments via multiple modes of transportationKnowledge of INCOTERMS and the ability to fundamentally apply themExcellent communication skills - written, verbal, and listeningAbility to adapt to new processes, products, and technologies as requiredAbility to learn and understand our products and technology at a level sufficiently high enough to efficiently identify risks and route requests for assistance to the proper division, department, or individualAbility to work within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, multi-discipline environmentAbility to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, identify and addresses problems, and meet deadlinesIdentify and resolve problems on time, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, and maintains confidentialitySelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environmentHigh level of attention to detail, and process-driven to balance timeliness and quality of service.Computer Skills: Intermediate knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, Google Sheets and SAPPhysical Requirements:Requirements include, but are not limited to: Normal conditions for an office environment Requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment for extended periods Role will be on-site, 5 days a weekEducation/Experience: Bachelor's degree and at least 2+ years' experience in manufacturing environment 3+ years of experience in a similar role or a combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree Experience in US Imports, Exports, and Domestic shipments, documentation, invoicing, and overall management Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs, Google Sheets, and SAP Experience in the plastic bottle industry or in a manufacturing environment preferredCompetitive Benefits: Medical (HMO), dental and vision insurance premium. 401k plan, Employer contributes 3%, up to 4%.
