Pharmacy Operations Manager
to lead the dispensing division within our 503A compounding facility. This leadership role is responsible for managing daily prescription fulfillment operations, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards, optimizing workflows, and supporting a culture of excellence in patient care. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by fostering a high-performing team and delivering safe, accurate, and timely compounded medications. Please note:
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, including F-1 student visas (CPT/OPT) or H-1B visas. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for current or future sponsorship. Key Responsibilities: Operational Oversight Lead and manage all aspects of daily dispensing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of patient-specific compounded prescriptions. Drive continuous improvement in workflow efficiency, safety, and patient satisfaction. Ensure prescriptions are reviewed and dispensed in accordance with all clinical, regulatory, and quality standards. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure full and ongoing compliance with federal and state regulations, including DEA rules, Texas State Board of Pharmacy requirements, and USP , , and standards. Enforce and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support high standards of pharmacy practice and patient safety. Leadership & Staff Development Directly supervise and develop a multidisciplinary team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support personnel. Provide performance feedback, coaching, and training to foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth. Manage scheduling and staffing needs to ensure adequate coverage and operational excellence. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with compounding operations, clinical pharmacy, compliance, and customer service teams to ensure seamless coordination and efficient prescription fulfillment. Serve as the primary point of contact for prescribers and patients, ensuring prompt communication and resolution of clinical and operational issues. Inventory & Resource Management Oversee the procurement and inventory of compounded and non-compounded medications, supplies, and equipment. Ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing waste and ensuring financial efficiency. Patient-Focused Service Delivery Champion a patient-centered approach by ensuring that all medications are dispensed safely, promptly, and with a high level of accuracy and service. Lead initiatives that support service excellence and enhance patient outcomes. Required Qualifications: Must hold an active, unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Minimum of
three (3) years
of progressive pharmacy experience within a
503A experience or 503B
compounding pharmacy setting. Minimum of
two (2) years of direct supervisory or pharmacy management experience
overseeing pharmacy personnel and operations. Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive performance in a regulated healthcare environment. Comprehensive understanding of 503A compounding pharmacy operations , including advanced knowledge of applicable federal and state regulatory requirements. Thorough expertise in USP , , and standards , with a demonstrated commitment to maintaining compliance and promoting a culture of safety and quality. Minimum of
two (2) years
of experience with pharmacy management systems, dispensing software, and electronic health records. Preferred Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an accredited institution. Why Join Southend Pharmacy?
