Job Summary
Qualifications:
- Current Alabama Driver's License, Commercial Driver's License and insurable with MPS insurance carrier.
- Experience operating school buses desired.
- Ability to communicate with the public or school age children preferred.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Operates school buses in accordance with Alabama Law and Departmental regulations.
- Conducts thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned bus and equipment.
- Allow only authorized personnel on the bus. Pick up and discharge passengers only at authorized stops.
- Maintains discipline of students while on the bus. Reports violations and discrepancies to proper authorities.
- Prepares and submits reports, timecards, etc. in accordance with Departmental regulations.
- May assist special needs passengers in boarding and exiting the bus.
- Cleans assigned vehicle; attends training and in-service activities.
- Foster a positive relationship with parents and students.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
