Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), a member hospital of Dartmouth Health, is seeking a BC/BE Medical Oncologist to join a team of well-established clinicians and support staff.

  • Full Range of Supportive Services including Social Worker, Nurse Navigator, Financial Navigator, RN Triage and Care Coordinator, Clinical Research Nurse, Dedicated and Proficient Rehab Team
  • On-Site CLIA Certified Lab and Oncology Pharmacy

Our experienced team cares for those with cancer and blood disorders in the greater Bennington, Vermont area, including surrounding communities in New York and Massachusetts. The SVRCC is ACOS Commission on Cancer Accredited with an active, multidisciplinary cancer conference.

Schedule and Compensation:

  • Four-day schedule, primarily outpatient practice with 1:4 call structure

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide clinical and administrative services for timely patient care.
  2. Abide by Dartmouth Health bylaws and code of conduct.
  3. Review patient records and medical history.
  4. Determine diagnoses and treatment plans.
  5. Order diagnostic tests and studies.
  6. Obtain informed consent for procedures.
  7. Interpret test results.
  8. Prescribe medications and treatments within scope.
  9. Refer to other providers as needed.
  10. Manage patient admissions/discharges if applicable.
  11. Provide education and counseling on illnesses and injuries.
  12. Complete documentation promptly.
  13. Provide patient and family-centered care.
  14. Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
  15. Supervise APPs as directed.
  16. Participate in CME and quality initiatives.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO with postgraduate residency training

Licensure/Certifications:

- Medical License in Vermont
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
