Submarine Electronic Warfare Engineering Technician

Amentum is seeking a Submarine Electronic Warfare Engineering Technician to join our Honolulu, HI team. Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Installing, monitoring, and servicing SWFTS Tech-Insertion & APB cycle of AN/BLQ-10 ESM systems at various Naval locations.
  • Assisting with test and evaluation, checkout, certification tasks.
  • Performing validations/verifications of various electronic systems.
  • Reviewing change proposals for equipment impacts.
  • Assisting in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions.
  • Developing technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.
  • Establishing and maintaining a filing system, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.
  • Providing technical data and evaluation for components installation, equipment maintenance, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements.

Minimum Requirements include:

  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active Secret Clearance.
  • Seven (7) years of practical experience and High School diploma/GED OR Five (5) years practical experience and an Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program.
  • Practical experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or repair of C5I and/or NC3 systems/equipment.
  • Experience in the maintenance/repair and/or installation disciplines.
  • Experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents, and drawings.
  • Excellent communications and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Knowledge across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems.
  • SSEP ESM Groom Team experience.

Service Contract Act (SCA): This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.

Compensation: The minimum starting hourly rate for this position is $29.74 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
