CNC Programmer - Aerospace Manufacturing

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our aerospace manufacturing team. This role will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting CNC programs for precision aerospace components. The ideal candidate has experience in high-tolerance machining, strong knowledge of G-code/M-code, and is familiar with aerospace materials, tooling, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program CNC machines (mills, lathes, multi-axis) to manufacture complex aerospace parts to exact specifications.
- Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX, CATIA).
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and fixtures to optimize performance and reduce cycle times.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and quality control teams to resolve production issues and ensure first-pass yield.
- Perform test runs and first-article inspections to validate and fine-tune CNC programs.
- Document setup sheets, tool lists, and programming processes for repeatability and consistency.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and other aerospace quality standards.
- Continuously improve programming strategies to enhance safety, efficiency, and part quality.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing or machining preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of CNC programming experience, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry. Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit, Fusion 360, or similar). Strong understanding of GDandT, blueprint reading, and CNC machine operations. Familiar with aerospace-grade materials such as titanium, aluminum, Inconel, and composites. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Familiar with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with 5-axis machining
- Familiarity with DPD/MBD (Digital Product Definition / Model-Based Definition)
- Knowledge of CMM programming or quality inspection tools
