Coral Ridge Outpatient Center: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Insurance Verifier to join our team. This role is responsible for verifying insurance coverage to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and the flexibility to open our center at 5:00 AM as needed.

Job Summary:
  • Verify Insurance Benefits and determine patient responsibility based on Insurance Contract.
  • Provide payment arrangement documentation for surgical procedures to appropriate individuals.
  • Discuss documentation with patients and family members, confirming instructions are understood, answering questions, setting up payment plans if appropriate.
  • Answer patient and authorized party questions and refer complex questions to healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate pertinent information from physicians, support staff, insurance companies, and other parties to the patient.
  • Review pre-qualification for third-party payers before scheduled admission and contact payers to ensure coverage, pre-certifications, and pre-qualifications.

These duties are in addition to any other duties assigned by the Business Office Manager.

Center Opening & Administrative Support:
  • Open the center promptly at 5:00 AM, ensuring all administrative systems are operational.
  • Greet and assist patients with initial paperwork or questions.
  • Provide general administrative support for smooth daily operations.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance verification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
  • Medical Terminology experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with office equipment and patient accounting software, especially AdvantX.
  • Familiarity with Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
