Senior Field Technician
On behalf of our client, a leading provider of mission-critical infrastructure solutions, Robert Half Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Field Technician to support field operations across high-security environments. This role involves hands-on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced electronic and security systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site installations, maintenance, and repairs of electronic systems and equipment.
- Conduct site surveys, configure hardware/software, and test systems for operational readiness.
- Interpret and review design documentation for constructability and quality assurance.
- Track project metrics, verify timesheet accuracy, and participate in resource planning meetings.
- Lead installation of raceways, cabling, racks, enclosures, and panels to industry standards.
- Terminate, test, and configure electronic devices, IT/network equipment, and field components.
- Manage switch configurations, assist with server/workstation setup, and troubleshoot programmable systems.
- Conduct daily safety meetings, enforce safety protocols, and complete incident reporting.
- Support testing and commissioning plans to ensure high-quality system performance.
- Perform tool inventory, inspections, and coordinate material procurement and staging.
- Represent the team in meetings with clients and design teams.
- Mentor entry level technicians, provide feedback, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required; must be eligible for a SECRET Clearance.
- Education: HS Diploma or GED and Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 hours) or Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician or Electrical Apprenticeship program.
- Experience: 6+ years in electronics installation/maintenance across multiple systems and customer programs.
- Skills: Strong oral, written, and presentation skills. Proven time management and organizational abilities. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Vendor certifications in IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (e.g., CCURE, Lenel, Bosch, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity).
- Experience with Windows OS, DIVAR, FFT, AIphone, and Airphone systems.
- 3+ years focused on electronic security systems.
- OSHA 30 certification.
