Position Overview
The senior account executive manages new business sales and the insurance portfolio for customers in an assigned territory. They also lead coverage or program assignments. The role supports audit requests and resolves identified challenges, using problem solving abilities. The senior account executive is expected to be customer focused and highly competent to deliver training and guidance as a Subject Matter Expert. The role is expected to develop subject matter expertise for complex lines of coverage. They implement Account Services directives to new and renewal customers as assigned, partners, and provides support for sales initiatives.
Essential Functions
  • Manage complex risks and lines of insurance; supporting the delivery of a successful audit when applicable.
  • Subject Matter Expert for assigned coverage/lines of business/programs.
  • Identify tools, resources and training that improve operational efficiencies. Provides training and learning support to Account Services staff.
  • Responsible for agency management system support and resolution of issues.
  • Support customer-focused activities; manage key accounts and assigned customers.
  • Perform renewal, selling and cross-selling activities; analyze eligibility, exposures, inspection reports, loss history, and other information to determine appropriate insurance placement.
  • Evaluate performance of existing market pricing and coverage; negotiating price, or rate insurance premiums in accordance with established underwriting authority.
  • Adhere to eligibility requirements, underwriting guidelines and agency agreements of insurance carrier business partners, and responsibly execute rate plans within the guidelines and underwriting authority of the authorizing insurer.
  • Develop external relationships with quality companies that demonstrate strong capacity and solid customer service levels.
  • Support internal operations acting as liaison and providing necessary assistance, research and support to the Underwriting department
  • Partners internally with underwriting, marketing/sales and finance to deliver exceptional service to members/prospects and carriers

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining efficient workflows

Job Requirements
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Resident producer's license with the ability to be licensed in all 50 states
  • Ability to travel across the United States
  • Five years commercial lines service in insurance company/agency operations
  • Experience managing high volume, key accounts
  • Experience building strong relationships with outside brokers
  • Sales and underwriting knowledge
  • Customer driven with the ability to take initiatives towards resolving agency and customer needs
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
  • Agency management system experience, preferably with AMS/Vertafore
  • Specialty or surplus lines experience
  • Experience managing coastal properties and accounts
