Job Summary: Responsible to greet patients, activate patient files, and move patients through a pre- determined protocol at clinic.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Patient care responsibilities as assigned, which may include scheduling and organizing patient flow, accompanying patients to exam/procedure room, assist patients with changing to exam gowns, and transfer to exam table if needed
  2. Assess patient's general condition and collect patient history
  3. Take appropriate vital signs
  4. Document health history, activities, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record
  5. Provide basic patient care as ordered by physician and assist physician with various procedures
  6. Provides patient education materials, communicates physician advice/instructions to patient
  7. Cast and splint application and removal
  8. Fit patients with braces, boots, other DME as ordered by physician
  9. Wound dressing changes
  10. Prepare injections
  11. Suture and staple removal
  12. Sterile tray set-ups
  13. Obtain lab/x-ray reports
  14. Schedule surgery, hospital procedures and pre- and post-op appointments
  15. Schedule MRI, CT scans, labs, etc.
  16. Schedule referrals to other physicians
  17. Assist with prior authorizations
  18. Perform ECG studies
  19. Clean and stock exam rooms
  20. Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies
  21. Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and Red Flag Rules
  22. Able to provide coverage to other AOC offices.
  23. Other Duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED certificate.
Experience: NA
Other Requirements:
  1. LPN, CMA, CST preferred or equivalent experience - prefer current state license or national certification
  2. Good communication skills
  3. Maintain current CPR certification

  7. Must have a flexible work schedule with the ability to work late some days and work through the lunch break on busy clinic days
Physical/Mental Requirements:
  1. Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching
  2. Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc. Must be able to life up to 30 pounds
  3. Occasional stress from workload
  4. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including phone, copy machine, writing instruments, pc, fax and medical equipment including stethoscope, ECG, blood pressure cuff, and cast saw equipment.
