1 month ago Be among the first 25 applicants Responsible for providing expertise to the development teams in the design and development of production, test, and development enterprise web databases. Manage and support current and future database development and methodologies. Proactively evaluate physical and logical design of databases to keep up with the dynamic and growing business needs in an e-commerce environment. Primary Responsibilities Assist in the design of logical and physical databases Identify architectural issues and propose alternative solutions. Provide data access methods for business objects utilizing the latest web technologies. Develop databases to support web based applications using OLE DB. Evaluate and monitor databases to resolve performance issues. Determine resource consumption estimates and recommend system upgrades. Interpret business requirements to develop data entity structures. Maintain (Development, Test, QA) MS SQL Server 7.0 databases in an enterprise web environment. Develop application/inter-application test plans; develop data requirement test scenarios; verify test results. Install upgrades and patches to existing databases. Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities College degree in computer related field. 4+ years of Database Administration (MS SQL Server, Sybase). Minimum two years MS SQL Server as a designer and DBA. Minimum 2 years SQL programming experience highly desirable. Experience with database design tools (Data Architect preferred). Possess and be able to apply knowledge of database principles and practice. Familiar with the principles of data warehouse development. Experienced in providing quality and cost effective database web solutions. Skilled in the administration of multi-database environments. Familiar with Object Oriented programming techniques and methodologies. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Must be highly self-reliant and motivated, and able to take ownership of tasks through completion. Strong communication skills - ability to relate to both technical and non-technical team members Is supportive of management and peers.
