Job Summary
The Accounts Receivable/Collections Accountant will manage the accounts receivable and collections process, ensuring accurate and timely billing, cash receipts, and collections. The successful candidate will work closely with customers and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain cash flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Receivable: Monitor and maintain customer accounts, ensuring invoices are issued promptly and correctly.
- Collections: Follow up on overdue accounts, communicate with customers about balances, and set up payment plans or resolve disputes.
- Billing: Generate, review, and send invoices, ensuring accuracy.
- Cash Application: Apply payments timely and resolve discrepancies.
- Reporting: Prepare reports on accounts receivable status, aging, and collections performance.
- Customer Service: Act as contact for billing issues and inquiries.
- Collaboration: Work with departments to resolve account issues.
- Credit Management: Review customer credit applications and suggest credit limits.
- Documentation: Maintain records of collections activity and payment schedules.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 2-3 years in accounts receivable, collections, or related role; industry experience a plus.
- Skills: Knowledge of accounting principles; proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks; communication and negotiation skills; attention to detail; ability to manage tasks and deadlines; independent and team work skills; problem-solving and customer-first attitude.
