International Tax Specialist
The International Tax Specialist will be one of the subject matter experts in international tax. This professional role is responsible for all aspects of international tax including but not limited to reporting, compliance, research, audit support, balance sheet reconciliation, process improvement, providing management with financial insights and special projects as assigned. The International Tax Specialist will work closely with the International Tax Manager and with other professionals within CAE USA, CAE Inc, and outside the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Subject matter expert in international tax.
- Prepare international tax schedules, returns, payments and reports as required through collaboration with third-party tax service providers.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations related to taxes.
- Prepare quarterly and annual international tax reports through collaboration with third-party tax service providers.
- Maintain organized tax records and documentation.
- Identify and pursue all available tax credits.
- Team with Program Management and Pursuit Teams to advise regarding income and indirect tax implications of international contract pursuits.
- Team with the Contracts and Legal Teams to review international tax terms in negotiating new contracts.
- Track and report on all tax risks and requirements for existing contracts.
- Coordinate with outside consultants on complex tax matters.
- Coordinate with CAE Inc International Tax Team.
- Participate in process improvements, reporting enhancements and special projects as needed.
- Provide support to the accounting close process.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- Master's degree in Business Taxation desirable
- Minimum 5 years tax experience including 3 years international tax experience
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Teamwork oriented
- Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Costpoint, Cognos, Adaptive, and Hyperion (HFM) a plus
- CPA a plus

- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
