How You Will Make A Difference:
The Dietary Care Specialists Prepare meals and snacks for clients in accordance with ASTER SPRINGS Dietary Formulary and regulatory bodies. Demonstrate a desire and willingness to embrace and model the ASTER SPRINGS mission within your job responsibilities and interaction with others. Essential Responsibilities include:
- Prepare meals for clients/appropriate staff according to ASTER SPRINGS menus
- Prepare snacks/shakes according to ASTER SPRINGS guidelines/menus
- Responsible to rotate stored food by date
- Follow Dietary cleaning schedule and document as completed in Dietary cleaning log
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients as needed
- Purchase groceries as needed
- Responsible for kitchen/dining room clean up after meals
- Work with RCs on meal documentation and clean up after meals
- Coordinate with Dietitian on kitchen supply needs
- Schedule shopping needs to accommodate meal/responsibility schedule
- Collaborate with Dietitian any needed changes/issues with menus/meal prep
- Able to communicate required cooking, defrosting, cleaning, and storage guidelines to accrediting bodies during inspections
- Able to disinfect back stock/storage areas per dietary cleaning guidelines
- Record all refrigerator/freezer temperatures per day
- Communicate any equipment failure to Dietitian and Executive Director
- Ensure meal delivery/snack/shake delivery follows program schedule
- Record date on all left-over items and move to appropriate storage area
- Ensure all items in all refrigerated storage areas are less than one week old/discard when older
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's preferred
- Active CPR/1st Aid/AED certification required
- Meal preparation in like setting preferred
- Continued education courses in dietetics and/or psychology or social work preferred
- Valid Driver's License
