Advanced Gynecology, a practice partner of Together Women's Health, is seeking a full-time Financial Counselor. The Financial Counselor serves as the primary contact to educate patients and the community about financial assistance and charity care programs, healthcare insurance exchange, or alternative insurance programs as appropriate, and provide price estimates.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide high-quality care to patients and their families with respect and dignity, ensuring feelings of safety and security.
2. Interview patients and/or family members to gather information about insurance coverage, eligibility, and qualification for financial assistance programs or payment plans.
3. Calculate estimated patient responsibility, inform the patient, and document in the data entry system, adhering to the Collections Policy to ensure payment is due at the time of service.
4. Maintain tracking of patients on schedule, ensuring eligibility and authorization information is accurately entered into data systems with secure notes.
5. Act as a liaison between clinical staff, patients, physicians, and insurance payors by informing about delays or denials, answering questions, educating about benefits, and relaying messages regarding authorization or benefits.
6. Reschedule or cancel patients in the data system due to verification or authorization issues.
7. Requirements include 2 years of experience in financial counseling, insurance verification, billing, or equivalent externship/access-related position.
8. Working knowledge of basic medical terminology.
9. Ability to work independently in a changing environment and handle stressful situations.
10. Excellent communication skills to convey messages clearly and ensure understanding.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and insurance websites.
12. May require travel within Metro Atlanta.
13. Demonstrate professional conduct with colleagues, superiors, and customers.
