Now Hiring: Forensic Scientist I Lenexa, KS (Full-Time, Onsite)

Location: 10101 Renner Blvd, Lenexa, KS 66219

Contract: 3+ months

Schedule: TuesSat (choose one shift: 5:00 PM1:30 AM, 6:00 PM2:30 AM, or 8:00 PM4:30 AM CT)

Pay Rate: $23/hr - $24.50/hr

Join one of the most respected names in diagnostics! Were looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Forensic Scientist I to support confirmation testing in our Employer Solutions Forensic Toxicology Laboratory located in Lenexa, KS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain chain of custody of forensic specimens and follow approved sample handling procedures
  • Perform specimen preparation, extraction, and instrument operation
  • Follow all written procedures in departmental SOP
  • Prepare and verify performance of new reagents and ensure all required calibrators and quality control samples are included
  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment and basic data review
  • Maintain legible, complete documentation and clean workspaces
  • Participate in validation studies for methods, instruments, calibrators, and controls
  • Maintain quality levels and notify supervisor of equipment or production issues
  • Perform temperature checks, maintain professional work environment, and complete all QC and QA documentation
  • Follow the direction of the Supervisor/Group Lead and adhere to company and departmental policies
  • Complete continuing education and competency verification as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, or Medical Technology
  • Alternative majors accepted with 16+ semester hours in Chemistry (including 6+ in inorganic chemistry), 16+ in Biology, and 3 in Math (must be pre-approved by QA)
  • Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience
  • Strong knowledge of lab methods and procedures
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, stand/sit for long periods, and lift up to 25 lbs
  • General systems knowledge and ability to analyze data
