Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Financial Analyst provides skilled assistance in performing financial analysis for the department. This role is responsible for completing complex financial analyses, developing forecast models, and supporting strategic financial planning.

Experience and Education

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Experience: 4 years of progressively responsible experience in finance and/or accounting, including planning, forecasting, and financial analysis
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review complex monthly financial management reports
  • Analyze forecast vs. actual performance, identify variances, and recommend improvements
  • Summarize financial data in written reports for leadership
  • Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with UT System, federal, and state reporting requirements
  • Identify areas of poor performance and present findings to upper management
  • Develop financial models and conduct in-depth financial analyses
  • Maintain financial controls and procedures, including the delegation of authority
  • Complete complex special projects as assigned
  • Perform other duties as required
