We are looking for a Solutions Portfolio Leader who can effectively lead teams and profitably grow a capabilities-oriented practice area within the Sustainability, Planning & Optimization Services. Strong technical acumen who engages with clients to promote and develop technology solutions, integrating into solution architecture. Supports conversion of prospects to technology focused projects. Thought leadership, solution portfolio strategy development and implementation, business development, and project execution. Ability to create and implement business strategies and manage complex consulting projects. Lead diverse, cross functional, matrix teams to deliver exceptional results. Strong aptitude to build strategies and plans to support growth of the practice area.

Black & Veatch's Strategic Advisory & Lifecycle Resiliency Services are an integrated portfolio of strategic consulting and operation resiliency services that apply across the client's entire investment-to-operations lifecycle commitments. Included are Strategic Advisory, Industrial Cybersecurity, and Operating Assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Profitably grow solution portfolio volume
  • Develop and implement Solution Portfolio strategy
  • Educate internal stakeholders on the solution and value proposition
  • Provide thought leadership and engage the external community
  • Support development of relationships strategic partners
  • Support business development activities
  • Collaborate on client segmentation strategies; drives engagement with peers to create an enterprise account and service approach
  • Seeks opportunities with existing or new clients and is accountable to forecasted metrics
  • Drives proposal activities including solution value definition, relevant risk and quality management and competitive pricing determination
  • Supports negotiation and closure of deals
  • Develop business cases for near and long-term adjacent solutions
  • Work with clients to develop viable solutions
  • Leads development of products and/or services and recommend investment priorities
  • Integrates service offering with others, both solutions and market offerings, to drive strategic solutions
  • Contribute to portfolio strategy evolution across BV
  • Establishes and analyzes relevant KPIs for the service offering; responsible for individual and practice level metrics
  • Facilitate discussion and actions to transition proposal basis information to the project execution team upon contract signature
  • Establish solution execution platforms (processes, tools, templates)
  • Drive execution platform adoption
  • Identify capabilities/skills needed to successfully deliver solutions
  • Execution resource planning and assignments PM/PD development
  • Execution of projects
  • Consistently deliver as-sold or better project execution results
  • Project profitability including cost, schedule, quality and safety
  • Project staffing plans
  • Adoption of standard execution platforms
  • Portfolio Strategy relating to the assigned solutions
  • Process design / technology architecture validation to support delivery of performance guarantees for projects/pursuits
  • OEM Teaming in technology delivery for projects/pursuits

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or relevant work experience
  • Typically 15+ years in a business/consulting environment
  • Has successfully managed multiple engagements simultaneously
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree preferred
  • Business development of 5+ years preferred
  • Certifications related to area of expertise, where applicable preferred

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • B&V Office Environment or Client Site Travel up to 100%.
