Base pay range
$60,000.00/yr - $68,000.00/yr
Our construction client is looking for a staff accountant to contribute to their team! They are looking for an individual with several years' experience in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely billing and payment processing.
- Track and reconcile job costs and project-related expenditures against budgets.
- Support job cost accounting and ensure accurate cost allocation to appropriate jobs or cost codes.
- Assist with payroll processing and related reporting, particularly for union and prevailing wage jobs (if applicable).
- Monitor and reconcile subcontractor and vendor invoices, including lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and compliance documents.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and cash flow management.
- Prepare and file sales/use tax and assist with other compliance filings.
- Work with project managers to ensure accurate project billing and financial reporting.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 13 years of accounting experience in the construction field
- Knowledge of job costing, WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction accounting software such as Sage 300 CRE (Timberline), Viewpoint, Foundation, or QuickBooks Contractor Edition is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
