The Senior Accountant, North America will be involved in general accounting, month end close, general journal entries preparation & posting, account reconciliations and research, fixed asset management and monthly financial reporting, in addition to supporting Assistant Controller with the corporate dealer programs.
Key Responsibilities

  • Applies accounting and financial policies, procedures and processes to comply with US GAAP overseeing all aspects of these processes and complying with US GAAP to integrate the financial results of North America.
  • Assists in preparing monthly financial reports, working capital analysis reports, analyzes results by comparing actuals to budget, forecast, plan or prior year, provides monthly operating results and key performance indicators for North American operating units in support of strategic decision making.
  • Prepares required journal entries for financial close and reconciles general ledger accounts to support month end balances.
  • Provides backup support for Assistant Controller with monthly reporting of financials, forecasts and uploading of actual data to parent company via OneStream.
  • Provides back-up support for the integration of foreign subsidiaries financial results into the consolidation tool as necessary.
  • Involvement in continuous improvement efforts for streamlining general accounting processes and workflows for general accounting systems and related JD Edwards software.
  • Assists with Sales Tax compliance to include any tax changes, reviewing Avalara for customer tax exemptions and review all US and Canada sales tax returns monthly.
  • Provide weekly reporting on bank, inventory, A/R and A/P balances for all North America.
  • Maintains fixed asset and intangible asset records; complies with capitalization policy and federal guidelines for depreciation and amortization calculations, administers the capital request approval program and is responsible for the monthly capital assets and depreciation and amortization forecasts.
  • Assists with Vehicle Fleet Management by maintaining Enterprise contact, assisting with securing new vehicles and approving vehicle repair requests.
  • Serves as the fuel card administrator adding new vehicle cards, performing driver maintenance by adding/removing drivers and reviewing monthly invoices for approval.
  • Assists with compliance regarding new and existing accounting standards in support of compliance with GAAP.
  • Works with Assistant Controller to develop, implement and manage an internal audit process for Kinetico remote locations.
  • Provides backup and support as necessary to integrate the Corporate Dealer financials into JDEdwards.

Education & Qualifications
What you will need to succeed:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required
  • CPA certified (or in progress)
  • 5+ years related work experience working as an Accountant or similar analytical role
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate at multiple organizational levels
  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of accounting software, word processing and advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize competing tasks
