Our client is a company in the professional services industry in the loop. They offer a 3 day a week in office schedule, 4 weeks of vacation, work life balance, excellent benefits and a clear path to manager. They are seeking to hire a Senior Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity that focuses more on the budgeting and forecasting side of things (vs month end close - another team handles that piece).

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving strategic budgeting initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a proactive approach to financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor budgets to align with organizational goals.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and reports for management review.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.
• Collaborate with department heads to forecast budgets and manage financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate audit processes and provide necessary documentation to external auditors.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, public accounting experience preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
