Senior Accountant
Location: Long Beach, CA On-site Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team, playing a key role in the monthly close process while supporting various accounting and finance functions. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to mentor other team members. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly general ledger journal entries and reconciliations, including Cash, Accounts Receivable, Operating Expense Accruals, and Prepayments, with detailed supporting schedules.
- Maintain lease accounting schedules in compliance with ASC 842.
- Generate the monthly management financial reporting package for Operations and Executive leadership.
- File periodic sales tax returns with the State of California and accrue use tax as needed.
- Reconcile E-commerce business segment activity and record necessary adjustments.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable activity, ensure accurate posting of billings and payments, review aging reports, and prepare bad debt analyses.
- Track and maintain compliance for annual licenses and permits required for business operations.
- Assist with quarterly review and year-end audit schedules.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as requested.
- Cross-train within the department to provide coverage and assist with process documentation (SOPs).
- Adhere to internal controls, financial policies, and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a four-year accredited institution.
- 35 years of accounting experience, including month-end close, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.
- CPA or public accounting experience preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, IF statements).
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion, PBCS, or similar) preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and resolve variances.
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented.
