Payroll Tax Specialist

The Payroll Tax Specialist will manage end-to-end US payroll processing with a focus on tax filing and compliance. They collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal teams to resolve payroll-related issues and will provide support for employee inquiries/escalations on payroll tax related topics. Key responsibilities include: ensuring accurate calculation, withholding, and remittance of federal, state, and local taxes; executing internal controls related to the payroll and the respective taxes; conducting audits and reconciliations to ensure tax has been deducted, and remitted; assisting internal and external audits related to payroll; staying current with federal and state payroll regulations, including IRS and Department of Labor guidelines; supporting system upgrades and testing related to payroll tax; reconciling taxes on a monthly and quarterly basis; executing year end activities related to taxation; collaborating with vendors like ADP for tax filing, payslip generation, and compliance reporting; uploading payroll files to ADP and validating tax settings quarterly to ensure SAP alignment; and managing end-to-end payroll tax processes including quarterly and annual filings (e.g., 941, W-2, W-3).

Job requirements include: this is a remote role. You must live within 100 miles of an Accenture corporate office to be within Accenture's primary residence location policy. Overtime to include weekend and holiday work may be required for this role. Typical working hours are 8AM to 5PM CT. Basic qualifications include a minimum of 4 years' experience in US payroll processing, including US payroll tax laws and multi-state compliance.

Preferred skills include in-depth knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP, Oracle); familiarity with wage attachment rules, including child support, tax levies, and bankruptcy orders; experience in working with organizations in the manufacturing sector; and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York or Washington.
