This role is perfect for tax managers who want hands-on experience with high-net-worth individuals and complex individual tax returns, while enjoying a more balanced work schedule. Youll face just one busy season a year, with hours up to 50 during that time, all within a supportive, team-driven environment.
Our client is a respected wealth management firm focused on tax compliance and planning. Theyre looking for a Senior Tax Manager to lead client relationships, guide tax planning strategies, and streamline workflows. Responsibilities:
- Lead tax compliance and planning for high-net-worth individuals and their related entities
- Review and sign off on individual, trust, estate, and partnership tax returns
- Manage and build strong client relationships
- Prepare tax projections and internal memos
- Collaborate with advisory teams on tax planning strategies
- Oversee workflow, budgets, and billing for your clients
- Help improve tax department processes and efficiency
Must-Have Skills:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Tax Manager with a focus on individual and HNWI tax returns
- CPA or JD required
- Strong experience reviewing federal and state tax returns
- Ability to handle multiple client engagements simultaneously
- Comfortable adapting to new tax software and research tools
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Enjoy working collaboratively with a team
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience working with high-net-worth individual tax planning and compliance.
- Knowledge of advanced tax planning strategies and techniques.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior staff members.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a tax department.
- Familiarity with emerging tax regulations and compliance requirements.
