Program Description
The Development Team works with donors, prospects, Foundation and Corporate funders, and government officials to raise unrestricted and restricted funding in support of Graham's mission. The Development Team focuses on linking mission to action by attaining funding. Relationship building, superior communications, and deep collaboration are characteristics of the Team and how it effects change internally and externally as key connection agents for Graham.
Principal Objective/Role Overview
The Prospect Research and Donor Relations Specialist strengthens Graham's operational efforts overall by identifying and nurturing relationships with potential and existing donors to propel Graham's work as a premier fundable non-profit. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate entry and retrieval of data in Graham's donor database (CRM) including reporting. Entering, receipting, and acknowledging gifts are key functions of this role as well as overseeing the structure of donor cultivation and stewardship. Other critical work includes research to find high-potential donors, create donor profiles, and implement donor relations strategies. This role involves both prospecting and stewardship to support Graham, our children, youth, families, and communities. Understanding the value of collaboration, managing collaborative efforts, drafting data reports, financial reconciliation, and identifying appropriate donor stewardship touches and facilitating their completion are key outcomes for this role. Outcomes are determined on a per annum basis collectively and focus on accuracy of data, reconciliation of records, and compelling stewardship interactions.
Job Responsibilities
- Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor data in the organization's database.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve data entry practices and procedures.
- Ensure that donor information is organized and easily accessible to the fundraising team.
- Produce regular reports that illustrate fundraising progress against goals.
- Prospect Research:
- Identify potential donors with high giving capacity and affinity for the organization's mission.
- Conduct research using various online and print sources to gather information about potential donors, including their philanthropic history, business interests, and connection to the organization.
- Analyze research data to assess the potential of donors and create prospect briefings for fundraising teams.
- Donor Relations:
- Develop and implement donor stewardship strategies to ensure that donors are properly recognized, thanked, and engaged.
- Create and manage donor contact records and stewardship activity logs.
- Assist with the planning and execution of stewardship events.
- Develop and implement communication materials.
- Help with gift agreements, recognition initiatives, and reporting on the impact of donor gifts.
Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, discipline non-specific
- 3-5 years of experience in similar positions demonstrating database acumen with donor portfolio and stewardship management
- Raisers' Edge experience
- Blackbaud training preferred
- Microsoft Office suite experience a plus
- Solid written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
- Ability to work collegially with a wide range of people

Salary & Compensation:
- Base Salary: $95,000.00/year
- FLSA Status: Exempt
