Ultrasound Technologist

Shift Schedule: 8:00AM - 8:30PM with rotating weekends and holiday coverage

The ultrasound technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician orders. This role requires clinical expertise in abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small part imaging, with a strong focus on patient safety, image quality and compassionate care.

Working independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the technologist ensures timely and accurate imaging services during 12-hour shifts. The position includes rotating weekend and holiday coverage to support 24/7 departmental operations.

Responsibilities

Duties include preparing and positioning patients, operating ultrasound equipment, documenting findings, assisting with interventional procedures as needed, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and departmental policies. The technologist is expected to maintain current certification, uphold professional standards, and contribute to a positive and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.

Certification:

ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification in at least one specialty

Additional ARDMS certifications preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations considered.
  • Experience in a hospital or 24/7 imaging department setting preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and PACS/RIS systems.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of exams including general, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology related to sonographic imaging.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and assist in patient positioning.
  • Capable of lifting and moving patients or equipment as needed.
