Job Details
* Administers or prescribes treatments * Discusses potential side effects to medications and/or immunizations with patients * Promotes health by advising patients about diet, hygiene, and methods for disease prevention * Refers patients to medical specialists for consultant services for their well-being, as needed * Provides competent and culturally sensitive primary care services to patients * Offers hormone therapy management, including prescribing and monitoring hormone regimens * Addresses and manages the physical, emotional, and mental health needs of transgender individuals * Conducts assessments for gender affirming surgeries and facilitate appropriate referrals, as needed * Works with the behavioral health team by assisting with gender identity exploration and provides support throughout the transitioning process * Offers specialized care to patients living with HIV, including antiretroviral therapy management. * Monitors disease progression, immune statuses, and potential complications related to HIV * Provides counseling and education on adherence to treatment plans and preventative measures * Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
Requirements:
* Medical degree (MD or DO) * Active California medical license * Board Certification Required + experience working with transgender patients and/or those living with HIV preferred * DEA license * BLS certification
