Job Description Description The Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE) is one of the nation’s largest health information exchange organizations. IHIE has been around for over a decade, with its roots dating back 30 years. As a not-for-profit HIE, we enable hospitals, physicians, laboratories, payers, and other health service providers to avoid redundancy and deliver faster, more efficient, higher quality healthcare to patients in Indiana. Today, by making information available to approximately 50,000 healthcare providers in Indiana and neighboring states, we deliver services that make a real difference in health and healthcare.

Indiana Health Information Exchange’s (IHIE) Solution Engineering team develops technologies that directly impact the quality, safety, and efficiency of healthcare. We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with superb drive to execute on initiatives from end-to-end independently while advocating for various stakeholders including the customer.

Summary:

The product owner is responsible for collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to develop a vision of what to build while owning the product roadmap for a product (or products) at IHIE and then conveying that vision to the scrum team.

Please note, at this time we are only considering candidates who reside in Indiana, as this is a hybrid role.

Oversees product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle. Collaborates with the Director of Product Management to analyze existing and new technologies as well as market developments and competition and develops product technical specifications and requirements according to needs. Gathers and prioritizes product and customer requirements and works closely with solution architecture and development to oversee and approve product enhancements and quality. Interface with customers and sales organization to drive product direction and ensure capabilities meet market needs and customer satisfaction goals. Supports marketing, sales and support through leading development and maintenance of various technical marketing collateral including application notes, FAQs, product notes, user guides, field training presentations, online marketing content, and demos. Works with teammates and the user community to identify, define, refine and document features. Gathers and distills requirements from users and internal stakeholders; translates these into a cohesive and actionable vision. Communicates product roadmap and release schedules to stakeholders. Manages scrum teams including running product meetings, maintaining product specs and backlog, coordinating design, development and QA activities.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field Skills and Experience:

4-6 years professional experience in software development Product owner, management or product design experience Exceptional at setting expectations, planning, and delivering on commitments Ability to drive initiatives forward end-to-end independently Excellent verbal and written communications skills Ability to be the voice of the customer or other stakeholders for assigned products Ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical peers on solutions and issues Ability to work effectively on complex projects independently as well as with a team across multiple phases of a project Ability to scope project effectively Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project Preferred:

Experience and/or familiarity with the Agile and/or Scrum methodologies preferred
