As a Senior AI Security Engineer at Datadog, you will play a vital role in empowering developers to build secure AI-driven applications. You'll collaborate closely with Datadog engineering teams to implement secure-by-default practices across widely used platforms, with a specific focus on AI/ML systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the security of Datadog's AI platform and products by establishing standards, developing secure solutions, performing threat modeling, and remediating AI-specific vulnerabilities. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage Datadog's comprehensive product suite, including Logs, Dashboards, Service Catalog, and Application Performance Monitoring (APM) to develop security services and partner with engineers who champion strong security and reliability as we move towards AI powered products. What You'll Do:
Gain a thorough understanding of Datadog's AI platform and products, including their architecture, functionalities, underlying technologies, security implications, and how they are used by customers. Develop secure-by-default solutions for all AI applications by extending our platforms to secure AI tools and agents. Work with engineering teams to ensure new AI features meet world-class security standards, addressing unique AI vulnerabilities. Prioritize and remediate top AI product and service threats, such as prompt injection, data poisoning, and model evasion, by developing and maintaining continuous testing frameworks for prompt injection vulnerabilities. Perform threat modeling with engineering teams for new and existing AI products, focusing on emerging AI-specific threats. Serve as a subject matter expert for other teams on building, delivering, and deploying secure AI code at Datadog. Establish security standards for AI-powered products and services to ensure we meet industry standards. Mentor and guide team members, fostering a positive team environment. Who You Are:
5+ years experience in software engineering or development within a collaborative setting, with a preference for Go and Python experience, and familiarity with LLM frameworks and protocols. Deep understanding of application security principles, common vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques, particularly concerning LLM applications (OWASP Top 10 for LLM applications). Experience in implementing secure-by-default frameworks, libraries, and solutions for applications. Proven ability to collaborate with product managers and engineers to embed security throughout the development lifecycle. Proactive approach to identifying security issues and a commitment to recommending and implementing solutions. Track record of successfully driving security initiatives with leadership and engineering buy-in. Dedication to staying current with the latest security best practices, technologies, and emerging threats, especially in the generative AI domain.
