Senior Director of Development

Senior Director of Development Houston, TX Our client, a major Houston healthcare system, is seeking a Senior Director of Development to oversee fundraising efforts for an assigned constituency within their organization. This includes qualifying donor prospects and cultivating relationships to philanthropically support their mission as well as cultivating relationships with volunteer leaders, physicians, and key hospital leaders to support all capital and comprehensive campaigns. Key Functions: Directs, develops and implements strategic and operational/high level projects Identifies opportunities and takes action to build strategic relationships Maintains a portfolio of high-level prospective donors Leads and coordinates with the Donor Relations and Stewardship Department Oversees department operations, designated projects, schedules and activities Develops an accelerated pipeline of giving targets according to organizational goals Ensures ethical compliance and all gift-related and administrative policies Develops and manages department operational and capital budgets, approvals, etc. Responsible for key metrics related to philanthropic activity in her/his assigned area of responsibility Develops and maintains relationships inside and outside of the organization Develops and executes high level innovative strategies for obtaining major/principal/transformational gift donations and donor recognition and stewardship through the identification and strengthening of philanthropic pipelines. Coordinates with physicians and Development Communication and Donor Marketing staff in crafting effective communication and proposals to support major gifts and campaign fundraising May lead a small team of fundraising professionals Position Requirements: Bachelors degree
