Industrial Mechanic Summary:
The Industrial Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems essential to the continuous operation of Chance Aluminum’s rolling mill. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment efficiency, quality, and safety in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

Industrial Mechanic Essential Responsibilities:
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, including rolling mill equipment, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, pumps, bearings, and hydraulics.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, implementing timely repairs to minimize downtime.
Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, equipment manuals, and schematics.
Disassemble and reassemble machinery with precision to manufacturer specifications.
Install new mechanical systems and assist with upgrades to existing equipment.
Collaborate with Industrial Electricians, Engineers, and Operators to ensure integrated system performance.
Support emergency repair needs during production downtime or breakdowns.
Maintain accurate maintenance records using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Comply with safety regulations and company policies, including Lockout/Tagout and PPE requirements.
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for chronic equipment failures and provide input for process improvement.
Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
Industrial Mechanic Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial machinery.
Proficiency with basic fabrication, welding, and machining (e.g., lathes, grinders).
Ability to work from heights, in confined spaces, and around molten metals and high-speed equipment.

Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Experience in an aluminum or metal processing facility.
Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound).
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles.
OSHA 30 certification.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in a noisy and physically demanding industrial environment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in tight spaces for extended periods.
Work Schedule:
Full-time position with possible on-call availability for emergencies.
Rotating shifts may be required, including weekends and holidays.
