Minimum Qualifications Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Position Summary This position will be responsible for performing and supporting research on influenza vaccinations by supporting the laboratory's human and lab animal programs. The incumbent will be responsible for organizing and executing the laboratory's blood and saliva samples and ensuring that trainees and other staff have samples for their experiments. Other duties related to laboratory organization and maintenance will be assigned as needed. This position will involve working on multiple experiments and may require some weekend and holiday work.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Previous experience working with blood collections and processing, immunological assays, and PCR assessment is desired.

Ability to calculate process blood samples

Experience managing clinical records for human studies.

Ability to organize, schedule, and manage multiple studies

Experience reading and writing animal user protocols

Learn new procedures and solve routine technical problems as needed

Maintain a clean and organized work environment and laboratory records

Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a fully productive, cooperative team member

Physical Demands Movement between facilities, occasionally operating heavy equipment, lift more than 40 pounds, driving as needed to complete job tasks.
