Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities Trapping and tagging bobwhites using baited walk-in funnel traps. A) This includes clearing trap sites, pre-baiting, and baiting of trap sites, checking traps daily and processing captured quail. B) Process quail by attaching a leg band to all individuals, and collaring a subset of individuals with radio tags.

Percentage of time 40

Duties/Responsibilities Tracking bobwhites using radio-telemetry. A) Track all collared quail 2-3 times per week to mark their locations and locate nests to monitor for success or failure.

Percentage of time 40

Duties/Responsibilities Vegetation surveys and equipment maintenance. A) Complete vegetation surveys where quail are tracked. B) Equipment maintenance (includes all research equipment and UTVs and trucks).

Percentage of time 10

Duties/Responsibilities Travel around field sites. A) Field Technician will use a sponsor-provided truck and UTV to travel around the field site when necessary. Housing will be provided.

Percentage of time 5

Duties/Responsibilities Data entry. A. Banding, tracking and veg data entry and quality control of those data. B. Other duties as assigned.
