The GIS, Spatial, and Data Analyst will work with large, spatial, and GIS data sets to pull, analyze, report, visualize, and interpret data for technical and non-technical audiences.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Perform use case analysis to identify data model requirements for climate data and visualization requests

Use ArcGIS Pro, AGOL, ArcGIS Hub and ModelBuilder to develop applications, add data layers, and pull data

Create and manage File Geodatabases

Conduct data mining and quantitative and qualitative analysis to organize and present data in a format easily read by humans or machines

Compile, manipulate, and refine spatial data from a variety of sources

Analyze climate data to make projections and uncover patterns and trends

Produce clear, complete, and accurate representations of geospatial data with minimal supervision

Create scripts using Python, R, SQL, Arcade, VisQL, M, Power Query, DAX, and common geographic information system (GIS) programming languages

Use statistical tools to provide diagnostic and predictive analytics

Use Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and other software to visualize, report, and integrate data and information based on audience

Troubleshoot and fix coding errors and data-related issues

The advancement of solutions and proposed requirements which may include, wrangling, combining, and curating datasets -- utilizing best practice methods, tools, andfunctions for the greatest practicable data manipulation and visualization.

Perform quality control checks of GIS data and non-spatial databases

Quality Assurance (QA), Test and Evaluation (T&E), privacy requirements, cybersecurity, assessment of opportunities to incorporate Artificial Intelligence ("AI") and/or Machine Learning ("ML") into ODRR Test and Evaluation which may include, Predictive Analytics, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLM), Generative AI, Training models, navigating access, compliance, privacy, and security concerns across all applicable platforms, data types, and use cases.

Develop presentations, case studies, and documentation to help non-technical audiences understand how specific data/conclusions were derived, how to interpret data/conclusions, and how to use data

Design and deliver responsive and/or interactive products.

Create a wide range of geographic content including maps, scenes, apps, and layers for readily apparent insights that the client can rely upon to make strategically guided, timely, and effective decisions.

Document data insights and outcomes to communicate information and methodology in an audience appropriate way

Apply critical thinking skills and outstanding writing skills to communicate information in a readable format such as a dashboard, presentation, or white paper

Provide guidance and support the use of Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, Power Apps, and related collaboration tools to streamline and automate tasks

Must possess integrity and be service focused at all times

Exhibit flexibility and resilience with both client organizations and SRE

Must possess a drive for continual learning and professional growth

Progressive experience in leading and providing technical direction of strategic business projects

Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and direction for multiple projects or sub-tasks and in designing, implementing, and managing business programs

Capability to manage multi-task projects of high complexity and must have demonstrated experience in managing all key project areas

Provides primary interface with client personnel regarding strategic issues and on project specific issues

Directs the completion of projects within estimated time frames and budget constraints

Coordinates tasks, review work products for completeness and adherence to client requirements

Experience includes demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills, including white papers and formal presentations

Delivers presentations and leads client meetings

Demonstrated ability to work independently

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in related field

Demonstrated familiarity with Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online

Demonstrated ability to use data tools and understand their application in spatial data

Must have experience with: Python, R Studio, SQL, Arcade, VisQL, M, Power Query, DAX,

Demonstrated experience and understanding of : AGOL, ArcGIS Hub, Tableau, MS Azure, MS 365, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, and Power Apps.

Must have experience and be an expert with Windows, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Gmail, Citrix ShareFile (or other online repositories), and online meeting platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom

Must have experience with: Python, R Studio, Microsoft Power BI

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $58,000 - $175,000/year. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. SRE considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Additionally, SRE adheres to all state and federal requirements regarding salary to ensure compliance with applicable labor laws. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SRE's total compensation package for employees.

Work Environment:

The primary work location of this position is Washington D.C. Metro area, remote work is allowed but not guaranteed. If you live outside the commutable area, travel expenses are not reimbursed to the primary work location.
