The MFE COE is a comprehensive college with disciplines focused on teacher preparation, counseling and human development, communication sciences, human movement sciences, career development, student affairs, and educational administration and policy. We place significant emphasis on graduate education with approximately 40% of our students at the graduate level, making us the second largest college at UGA with respect to graduate education.

Position Summary The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for coding and submitting medical claims for insurance billing. Under general supervision, this position assists with administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, organizing and maintaining electronic files, and providing information Speech and Hearing clinic staff. The incumbent will report to the Speech and Hearing clinic Office Manager. This position is fully remote.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Knowledge of various administrative systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and UGA Financials (People Soft).
Knowledge of and experience using electronic medical record systems, preferably for Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology services.
Knowledge of medical billing and coding procedures
Knowledge of credentialing with insurance companies
Physical Demands Sitting for long hours Viewing a computer screen for prolonged periods of time Typing on a keyboard for long periods of time
