About the College/Unit/Department

IRIS is a group of researchers from over a dozen disciplines at the University of Georgia, including engineering, ecology, landscape architecture, geography, anthropology, economics, and policy and law. We work toward a more equitable, resilient future by discovering innovative ways to combine natural and conventional infrastructure. IRIS expands the definition of infrastructure to include natural systems, including the forests that purify our air and drinking water, barrier islands and natural shorelines that protect our communities from storms, and marshes that store carbon and buffer against erosion.

The position is located on The University of Georgia campus in Athens, a vibrant city of 67,000 within a metropolitan community of 150,000. Athens is located 65 miles northeast of Atlanta. Please check

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities Work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, geologists and other scientists and practitioners to co-develop and implement research on the economic, ecological, and social impacts related to groundwater along the Georgia coastal region.

Duties/Responsibilities Participate in community outreach activities along the Georgia coastal region.

Duties/Responsibilities Communicate regularly and in a timely fashion with project PIs regarding research and other issues relevant to the operation of the laboratory
