Senior Estimator

to join our procurement team. This role requires strategic thinking, innovative planning, and exceptional leadership throughout the pre-construction and estimating process. The ideal candidate will have outstanding presentation skills, the ability to lead owner interviews, and a proven record of building and maintaining client relationships. The Senior Estimator will oversee conceptual budgeting, hard bids, and negotiated projects, while mentoring other estimators and ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and constructability in all estimates. Key Responsibilities Review and interpret project specifications and requirements. Develop bid strategies, identify potential risks, and define competitive advantages. Identify and engage priority subcontractors and suppliers for each project. Direct the bid solicitation process and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors using bid management software. Write, review, and assign detailed work scopes to subcontractors. Lead pre-bid meetings with internal teams and subcontractors. Assist operations teams with project logistics, staging, and phasing plans. Prepare bid summaries, general requirement spreadsheets, and conceptual estimates. Perform quantity take-offs for CSI Divisions 1–46. Price self-performed and subcontracted work on a unit-based basis. Maintain and update pricing databases using subcontractor and field production data. Strengthen existing subcontractor relationships and develop new ones. Monitor bid coverage and identify gaps in subcontractor participation. Review and finalize bid documentation, including bid forms and bid bonds. Assess estimates for accuracy, constructability, and risk factors. Assign tasks, review work, and provide mentorship to estimators to ensure bid deadlines are met. Lead conceptual budgeting and the preconstruction process for assigned projects. Participate in client interviews and present estimates and proposals. Track and manage value analysis items from proposal through acceptance or inclusion. Conduct constructability reviews, system analyses, and evaluations of MEP systems. Successfully manage multiple projects valued at $15M+ concurrently. Qualifications Minimum of 8 years’ experience as an estimator in commercial construction. Proven experience with projects exceeding $15 million in value. Strong knowledge of construction methods, best practices, and industry technology. Demonstrated ability to lead conceptual estimates and hard bids. Proven success in securing subcontractor participation in new geographic markets. Experience with self-performed concrete and carpentry is preferred. Ability to schedule, mentor, and train estimators in all aspects of estimating. Proficiency in Timberline, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
