We are partnered with a multinational consumer-focused organization seeking to hire an experienced Employment Counsel. This role will support employment law matters across U.S. operations and select affiliates, providing strategic legal guidance on a wide range of employment issues. The position reports directly to the General Counsel and will work closely with HR and executive leadership to manage compliance, mitigate risk, and support workforce initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Provide expert guidance on employment and labor law, including FLSA, Title VII, ADA, California Labor Code, and other applicable regulations. Advise on workplace policies, performance management, compensation, benefits, hiring, terminations, leaves of absence, and accommodations. Conduct risk assessments and advise HR and leadership on compliance strategies and mitigation plans. Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, including executive contracts, non-competes, confidentiality, and severance agreements. Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures to reflect legal developments. Monitor changes in employment law, particularly in California, and communicate updates to internal stakeholders. Lead training programs on employment law compliance, workplace conduct, and legal obligations. Manage internal investigations and advise on disciplinary actions, grievances, and misconduct claims. Oversee employment-related litigation and coordinate with outside counsel as needed. Provide immigration support for foreign national employees, including visa guidance and compliance. Qualifications JD from an accredited law school. 5+ years of employment law experience, with a strong focus on California regulations. Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar (or eligible for in-house counsel registration). Prior in-house legal experience preferred.
