On Cue Hire is seeking a Junior Associate Producer at our midtown Manhattan offices.

Candidates must be local to the greater New York City area and within a reasonable daily commute to midtown Manhattan

to be considered. This full-time, onsite role is from

2pm-11pm , and involves working on

exciting new programming

for a

leading international news network . Commuter benefits offered.

You’ll provide vital support throughout the production process - from researching topics to assisting during live broadcasts. This role is ideal for someone with some

live newsroom production experience

who is looking to build skills and grow toward a full Associate Producer position. You’ll work closely with producers to help bring stories to life in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Core Duties and Responsibilities: Breaking News Responsiveness:

React quickly and effectively to breaking news developments and breaking news alerts. Editorial & Production Skills:

Apply sound editorial judgment and strong production capabilities to daily assignments. Research & Content Support:

Assist in researching topics, gathering background information, and preparing materials for segments. Script Preparation:

Refine writing skills, helping to organize and format scripts, ensuring accuracy and readiness for on-air delivery. Guest Coordination:

Support producers with guest booking, scheduling, and preparation. Production Elements:

Contribute to the creation and organization of graphics, video clips, and other broadcast assets. Live Show Assistance:

Provide control room or in-studio support during live or taped segments. Assignment Transition:

Hand off assignments and relevant updates to the overnight assignment editor. Collaboration & Learning:

Partner with veteran news producers to learn best practices and refine production skills. Administrative Support:

Maintain production notes, contact lists, and daily rundowns.

Qualifications: Experience:

1 year of professional experience in a newsroom, TV production, or related media environment as a Desk Assistant or Production Assistant. Skills:

Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask under deadlines. Technical Proficiency:

Basic familiarity with newsroom management systems and editing tools (training provided). Team Player:

Collaborative, positive, and proactive attitude. Passion for Media:

Interest in news, current events, and live television production.

Preferred Qualifications: Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or related field preferred but not required. Flexibility:

Willingness to work occasional holidays or special events as needed.
