Controls & Instrumentation Technician – Overnight Shift (Temp-to-Perm)

Controls & Instrumentation Technician
to support the startup, maintenance, and improvement of complex automated manufacturing equipment. You’ll be hands-on with PLCs, vision systems, robotics, drives, and process controls—ensuring high uptime, low scrap, and exceptional product quality in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. Key Responsibilities: Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize automated equipment controls and instrumentation. Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, servo/VFD drives, and vision systems (Cognex/Keyence). Support equipment installation, start-up, qualification, and on-site acceptance testing. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime. Collaborate with operators, engineers, and maintenance teams to improve processes. Document maintenance activities, create SOPs, and train others. Qualifications: 5+ years working with controls and instrumentation on automated manufacturing equipment. Strong PLC programming (Rockwell ControlLogix) and HMI experience. Knowledge of VFDs, servo drives, PID loops, and process control. Experience with machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence preferred). Ability to read technical prints, troubleshoot control circuits, and wire machinery. Familiarity with NFPA 79/NFPA 70E safety standards a plus.
