McLean & Potomac Dermatology and Skincare Center is a dermatology clinic that offers adult and pediatric dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and skin cancer surgery.
We are expanding so we are looking for a Nurse Manager to join our team. The Nurse Manager in Dermatology oversees the daily clinical operations of the dermatology unit, ensuring safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care. This role combines clinical nursing expertise with leadership responsibilities, including staff supervision, patient flow coordination, quality improvement, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Leadership & Staff Management:
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate dermatology nursing staff, medical assistants, and other clinical personnel.
Develop staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
Lead staff meetings and provide ongoing training and education.
Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
Clinical Oversight: Coordinate and monitor patient care delivery to ensure clinical excellence.
Provide direct patient care as needed, including wound care, skin assessments, biopsies, and pre/post-procedure care.
Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, safety standards, and patient privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA).
Operational & Administrative Duties: Monitor clinic workflow to optimize patient scheduling and minimize wait times.
Maintain accurate documentation, patient records, and treatment logs.
Collaborate with physicians and other departments for coordinated care planning.
Oversee inventory and ensure availability of medical supplies and dermatologic equipment.
Quality Improvement & Compliance: Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and standards.
Monitor quality metrics and implement strategies for performance improvement.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA, state boards).
Qualifications: Required: Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State].
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Minimum of 35 years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years in dermatology or outpatient clinical care.
Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
