Position Overview: As a CAD Designer, you will report to the Principal, AVC Systems Designer and be accountable for CAD design and documentation for assigned projects. Working collaboratively with members of the CAD, Design and Engineering Teams, you will provide value and your expertise in the areas of translating AVC design concepts and specifications into accurate CAD drawing packages while adhering to company CAD standards and processes. AVC technical packages include location plans & RCPs, rack elevations, wiring diagrams and equipment details drawings.

The CAD Designer is primarily an in-office position, and you will have available work areas at our Burbank, California location. Hybrid and/or work from home options may be available after the initial orientation period, depending on the requirements of the work at hand. You may be required to travel to meet with clients and vendors, for professional development, to visit our other locations, as well as to attend industry-related trade shows and conferences. The CAD Designer’s regular hours generally are Monday through Friday from 8:30AM – 5:30PM Pacific Time. However, additional or alternate times and days may be required depending on project needs/workflow or to participate in TechMDinc professional development opportunities or as workflow dictates.

Primary Responsibilities: Develop detailed 2D and 3D models, drawings and sheet sets using CAD software Maintain organized project CAD documentation including drawings lists, master drawings and Xrefs Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement Ensure that designs adhere to company standards as well as industry codes and regulations Create and update AutoCAD 2D dynamic blocks and Revit 3D families Reconcile drawing package items with related equipment lists and/or bill of materials documents Integrate 3rd party drawing backgrounds into larger overall client packages Manage BIM cloud system models for AVCL disciplines Manage internal CAD libraries, databases, & inventories (ACC, Box, GitHub) Contribute to CAD R&D for developing efficient systems and processes Perform other responsibilities as defined by the TechMDinc Design & Engineering Teams

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Computer-Aided Design or related field 3+ years of experience in architectural drafting and 3D modeling Proficiency with computerized design programs including AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, ACC Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, and SolidWorks Familiarity of CAD database integrations, scripting and LISP routine authoring Experience with producing architectural/construction drawing sets (within the themed entertainment industry preferred) Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Detail-oriented with a concentrated focus on quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Preferred Skills: Develop project-level automation and customization using: AutoCAD (LISP Routines, Plugins) Revit (API, Dynamo, Enscape AV/VR, Plugins) Navisworks (Clash Detection) Rhino (API, Grasshopper, Plugins, V-Ray Rendering) SolidWorks (API, Macro Files, Plugins) Relay updates and training to CAD Department members and AVCL Designers/Engineers

Physical Requirements: Ability to move occasionally about in the environment, including stooping or kneeling, to access office machinery Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 25 pounds to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into trucks
