The Mechanical Engineer will work in the laboratory automation space, designing, calculating, building, and testing various hardware components. The role requires a working knowledge of safety, project management, fabrication print best practices, 3D printing, and the use of industry standard hand tools. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Pay Range: $30-$35/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design, calculate, build, and test hardware components for laboratory automation systems. Research products online, provide CAD drawings, and write technical documents including assembly instructions, bill of materials, machine shop prints, and presentations. Assist in assembling prototypes and running tests. Participate in design reviews and collaborate with other engineers and researchers locally and remotely. Work onsite at the Chesterfield, MO campus with other engineers, maintenance teams, scientists, machine shop staff, carpenters, electricians, technicians, and vendors.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum requirement). 1–3 years of experience in a related engineering role. Proficient in CAD/SolidWorks and PDM. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in an on-site work environment.
