Role Description This is a paid remote role for a Freelance Graphic Designer based in Seattle, WA, focused to the scope of a Seattle Civic magazine we've received grant funding for from 4Culture, King County's Public Development Authority that promotes arts, heritage, historic preservation, science and technology, and public art throughout the region.

The Freelance Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating the magazine cover and back graphic designs, developing branding elements that incorporate the flag's water and mountain symbolism, page formatting, using designated logos, and working with typography. The designer will collaborate with the team so that the magazine embodies our vision of unity, inclusion, and respect. Day-to-day tasks include brainstorming / implementing design concepts, refining iterations, planning the page flow of the magazine content, and participating in occasional team meetings virtually.

Total Gross Compensation $3,000

Relevant Timeline for the Job: ·

Phase 1

(August - Mid-October 2025) Establish Graphic Design, and Magazine Layout

Phase 2: Execution (Mid-October- January 2025) Seattle Cultural Legacy Magazine: Create and publish the magazine. Advisory Review: As the magazine comes together, check in with committee members to ensure that the content is aligned.

Phase 3: Public Benefit (Mid-January 2025) Printing: Print magazines Distribution: Distribute the Seattle Civic Magazine.

Qualifications Skills in Graphics, Magazine Layout, Graphic Design, and Typography Experience Branding Strong portfolio showcasing relevant design work Excellent attention to detail and creativity Ability to work collaboratively and independently Passion for civic art and community engagement Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field is a plus
