Our main office is in Gulfport, MS. However, this position will be required to work in our various locations in the field, such as Pascagoula, MS & Mobile, AL.
Responsibilities The main responsibilities of the Site Safety Supervisor position include, but are not limited to, the following: Monitor project locations to ensure that the corporate safety programs are being carried out. Review all accident records, check OSHA logs for completeness and review safety and loss programs. Confirm project locations are complying with federal, state, and local regulations. Review project specifications for any new health, safety or environmental regulations that are required and inform management of the changes. Ensure availability, distribution and maintenance of PPE and Protective Work Clothing at all project sites. Monitor the company Health and Safety Programs, assuring that the programs are up to date and site safety inspections are routinely conducted. Stay abreast of health, safety, and environmental regulations. If new regulations affect the company business, discuss the changes with management and distribute the changes to supervisors and employees. Conduct daily site safety inspections and document results along with corrective actions. Enforce Stop Work Authority and promote safe work behaviors. Stop, train, and teach employees performing with unsafe acts or demonstrating a lack of knowledge while performing job tasks. Develop and deliver safety topics for briefings and training sessions for current and new employees. Support the company drug screening processes. Inspect equipment for potential safety hazards and ensure proper maintenance of PPE. Assist management with escorting duties and other EHS tasks as needed. Review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for existing and first time use chemicals. Verify employee compliance with medical surveillance requirements. Evaluate confined space permitting needs, conduct air sampling tests, and perform respirator fit testing. Assist with accident and incident investigations involving personnel and equipment. Provide on-site safety guidance, collaborate with foremen, superintendents, and managers to control hazardous conditions and unsafe behaviors, and support project-specific safety initiatives. Conduct respirator fit testing, evaluate confined space entry requirements, perform air sampling, and assist with confined space permitting. Assists management with Workers Compensation duties. Administer first aid and assist with employee medical requirements as needed. Other duties assigned by manager as needed for safety, production, etc. demands.
Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 49 lbs. and perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, and climbing. Stand/walk for up to 12 hours per shift in variable weather conditions. Available to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of ESH or Safety related experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, particularly 1915. Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or maritime environments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of staff. OSHA 30 certification required.

Salary Range $60,000-$70,000 based on experience
