Epitec is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our automotive client's team. As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, the candidate will play a pivotal role in driving quality improvements and warranty reductions in assembly plants, as well as prevent recurrence actions for future programs.

Location: Chicago, IL (onsite) This is a long-term, ongoing contract. W2 only. There is heavy travel required for this position to various plants across North America.
Responsibilities: Lead data-driven analysis of quality and manufacturing issues on the plant floor Develop and implement corrective actions (ICAs, PCAs, PRAs) Collaborate across engineering, product development, and quality teams Use VRT health charts to prioritize fixes that reduce R/1000 Implement error-proofing tools and technologies to improve quality Manage VME tasks for minor programs and running changes Conduct in-plant trials and support engineering change activities Participate in daily and weekly quality meetings, audits, and containment efforts
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred) Experience in automotive manufacturing and assembly processes Familiarity with error-proofing, vision systems, and fastening technologies Strong project management and communication skills Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and 3D CAD tools (Teamcenter, CATIA, etc.) Understanding of PFMEA and failure mode avoidance Willingness to travel to North American assembly plants
