We are seeking a highly technical and execution-focused

Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead complex network deployment and operational initiatives across engineering lab environments. This role bridges deep technical knowledge with project management expertise, driving lab migrations, testbed deployments, and network infrastructure changes at scale. The ideal candidate has strong experience with IP networking, routing/switching/tunneling protocols, and infrastructure operations in highly dynamic environments. You will coordinate across engineering, deployment, and operations teamsensuring projects are scoped accurately, executed effectively, and aligned with lab testing and automation goals. Scope of Role: Owns the planning, coordination, and delivery of network deployment and operational projects across global engineering labs

Combines hands-on technical network experience with structured project management methodologies

Partners closely with network engineers, deployment teams, Smart Hands, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver highly available, flexible lab environments

Tackles ambiguity with strong analytical skills and an execution-first mindset

Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage technical project lifecycle for network testbed deployments, lab migrations, and infrastructure upgrades

Partner with engineering teams to define requirements for network topology, routing, switching, tunneling, and security configurations (VXLAN, EVPN, ACLs, etc.)

Develop and maintain detailed project plans, resource schedules, risk logs, and milestone tracking

Coordinate Smart Hands and field resources for onsite deployments, including site access, task execution, and equipment logistics

Ensure delivery of properly configured and validated testbeds, integrating mobile devices, switches, routers, Linux-based systems, and cellular equipment

Drive coordination of hardware installs, cabling, and logical connectivity validation in lab environments

Monitor and manage technical tickets, escalations, and post-deployment validation tasks

Oversee equipment logistics, rack planning, device staging, and decommissioning efforts

Identify and implement opportunities for automation, documentation, and process improvement

Deliver recurring status updates, stakeholder reporting, and metrics tracking for leadership

Collaborate with operations teams to ensure monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue management practices are integrated into project outcomes

Required Technical Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in network engineering, lab deployments, or infrastructure project management

Strong understanding of IP networking, routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VXLAN, EVPN)

Experience in both deployment and operations environments, including hands-on troubleshooting of escalated issues

Familiarity with configuring network hardware across multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.)

Working knowledge of structured cabling, fiber-optic design, power planning, and rack integration in lab or data center environments

Experience coordinating Smart Hands or field engineers and managing physical site access and task assignments

Comfortable working with Linux systems and scripting/automation (Python, Bash)

Strong understanding of lab infrastructure support, including test equipment, storage, compute, and monitoring tools

Experience with project/ticketing tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, or equivalent

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical content to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in engineering lab environments or hardware qualification labs

Network certifications (CCNP, JNCIS, RHCSA, or equivalent)

Familiarity with Optical Transport Networks and hardware-level deployments

Experience with automation frameworks, API integrations, or test validation scripting

Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline

Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Primarily office-based, with occasional onsite presence in engineering lab environments

Flexibility to work across time zones for global coordination

Must be able to communicate and collaborate effectively across technical and operational teams

Salary Range $114,000.00 - $180,000.00 USD (Salary)

Please note that the salary information provided herein is base pay only (gross); it does not include other forms of compensation which may or may not apply to this specific position, namely, performance-based bonuses, benefits-related payments, or other general incentives - none of which are guaranteed, may be subject to specific eligibility requirements, and are wholly within the discretion of Astreya to remit. Further, the salary information noted above is a range that consists of a minimum and maximum rate of pay for this specific position.
