No Call or Weekends. Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Registered Nurse to join our Peri-Operative team. This role is responsible for providing safe and quality patient care throughout the Pre-operative, Intra-operative, and Recovery phases. The ideal candidate will be accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission through to discharge. Principal Responsibilities: 1. Foster a positive culture within the team by adhering to Service and Behavioral Standards.2. Assess patient status upon admission to the pre-op and post-op areas, and continually throughout the process.3. Provide therapeutic and quality care to patients by employing the nursing process, setting appropriate priorities, and ensuring readiness for discharge.4. Deliver patient care in a timely and organized manner.5. Utilize established nursing care standards in planning and executing patient care.6. Communicate patient conditions effectively to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, management, and other staff members.7. Execute physician orders accurately and document all activities promptly.8. Engage in patient and family education, assessing learning needs based on understanding and readiness to learn.9. Understand each patient's cognitive, physical, emotional, and age-related needs in assessments, treatment, and care.10. Participate in the orientation and training of newly hired staff.11. Conduct pre-and post-operative phone calls to address any patient concerns or complications.12. Maintain competencies required for the RN position within the designated area.13. Administer conscious sedation and monitor sedated patients, ensuring airway protection and support.14. Identify safety hazards for sedated and anesthetized patients to protect their privacy and well-being.15. Display expertise in safety principles, asepsis, sterile technique, and universal precautions.16. Anticipate and implement appropriate care during the surgical process.17. Prepare the unit for daily operations by opening, cleaning, and restocking as needed.18. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education, Licensure, and Experience: 1. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.2. Current, unencumbered State of Oregon RN license.3. Current CPR certification; ACLS certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.4. Minimum of three to five years nursing experience; two years in critical care, PACU, or Medical Surgical Nursing preferred.5. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to complete within 90 days of hire required.6. PALS certification preferred. Knowledge and Skills: 1. Ability to manage emergencies calmly and confidently.2. Demonstrated flexibility and leadership in response to unscheduled procedure changes.3. Skilled in organizing, prioritizing, delegating, and assigning duties to non-licensed personnel.4. Proficient in equipment usage and troubleshooting.5. Comprehensive understanding of peri-operative nursing care in an ambulatory surgery center.6. Strong knowledge of the nursing process and basic clinical skills for patient care.7. Ability to collaborate effectively with medical providers, clinical staff, and patients.8. Multitasking capability in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high work quality.9. Commitment to adhering to policies and procedures regarding confidentiality, infection control, safety, attendance, personal electronic use, and appearance.10. Actively participate in Quality Improvement activities, identifying opportunities for cost reductions and efficiencies. Physical Demands: The work environment is typically moderately quiet, with exposure to patient and environmental conditions, including some unpleasant sights, smells, and contagious diseases.
