As a Surgical Nurse, you will play a critical role in supporting various surgical procedures and ensuring the highest standard of patient care. This position demands a strong collaboration with surgical teams and effective communication skills in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: - Provide direct patient care in the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative settings.- Assist with surgical procedures across multiple specialties including General Surgery, Urology, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Pain Management, and Podiatry.- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Radiology.- Maintain patient safety and comfort by monitoring vital signs and responding to changes in patient conditions.- Participate in on-call rotations (1:6) and fulfill weekend, weekday, and holiday responsibilities as required.- Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations and maintain sterile environments. Qualifications: - Minimum of 1 year of surgical nursing experience.- Valid NY state nursing license required at the time of submission.- Current ACLS certification.- Ability to scrub and assist through various surgical procedures is a plus.- Must be able to respond to the hospital within 20-30 minutes for emergent cases. Unit Details: - Operates with 5 rooms and 5 beds.- Daily census of approximately 20 patients across multiple specialties.- Must float between departments as needed.
