Job Opportunity At Cooley Dickinson Hospital

Cooley Dickinson Health Care, a member of the Mass General Brigham system, is advancing health care in western Massachusetts, and has been since 1886. Our network employs more than 2,000 medical professionals and support staff, at our main Hospital campus in Northampton and additional locations in twelve towns throughout the Pioneer Valley. Cooley Dickinson's VNA & Hospice is also a vital part of our network, providing home-based services throughout Hampshire and Franklin counties. $2,500 Sign on bonus payable after first 90 days for qualified external applicants. Schedule: 8-hour shifts between the hours of 6:30 am - 8:00 pm. Floating is required as needed. On-call is required.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the CVIR Manager within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, responsible for performing pre-operative nursing assessment of Interventional patients. Coordinate the pre-operative process (i.e. diagnostic testing and scheduling process for patients to be prepared for day of surgery). Identify and document findings. Communicate appropriate information to MD, nursing personnel, social services, etc.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Other Certificate/Diploma Nursing required
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Licenses and Credentials:

  • Registered Nurse (RN - Massachusetts) required
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification required

Experience:

  • Experience with the Peri-operative nursing process 3-5 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong assessment skills evidenced by experience or evaluation required.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve inter-disciplinary and interdepartmental problems in an effective manner required.
  • Demonstrated effective use of change process required.
